Jessica Simpson: “Life Is Better”
Jessica Johnson, we mean, Jessica Simpson called in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Thursday morning to talk about everything from being a newlywed and a mom of two to her mega-successful Jessica Simpson Collection line. Although the singer-turned-mogul has not officially taken husband Eric Johnson‘s name, she does admit to jumping between the two surnames when it suits her best.
So if she was going to make a restaurant reservation? “It depends on what restaurant it is,” jokes Jessica, who got married over the July 4 weekend. “If it’s a hard restaurant to get into, I will definitely say Simpson, It helps a little bit. My license says ‘Jessica Johnson.’ That makes it legit.”
Ryan also asked Jessica, 34, about a recent report that she and Eric have a champagne toast to their marriage every morning. After lots of laughing, she revealed, “That is so not true. If anything, we wake up and I’m like, ‘Stop breathing on me!’ … We have felt like ever since we got married, we’ve been kind of living on this honeymoon, for some reason. Life is better. But we don’t toast every morning with champagne.”
Still, is there any chance her daughter Maxwell, 2, and son Ace, 14 months, will get a little sibling? “Oh, we are done,” Jess says with conviction. ‘I say we’re done. I don’t want to accidentally get pregnant one day and then that poor kid feels like it wasn’t meant to be or something. We’ve got the girl and we’ve got the boy.”
But with a husband as hunky as Eric, there must not be many times she can say ‘No’ to him, right” “Oh my gosh, yes,” she told Ellen K. “After four years, there are definitely moments where you say ‘No.’ It’s not like rejecting Eric as a man, it’s just that one moment. I’m like, ‘Give me five minutes.
This Saturday, the blonde bombshell, who also has a new Jessica Simpson fragrance out now, will be at Nordstrom at The Grove in Los Angeles to show off her Fall 2014 collection.
“It’s exciting for me to be able to have a fashion show and to be have to have that many looks and that many design elements to display,” she gushes. “To be able to dress someone from head to toe is pretty awesome … We have everything from boots and all different kinds of fun looks. And this time it’s a little bit more whimsical, Stevie Nicks vibe. It’s a little bit more boho this time. It will be exciting to be at The Grove, be home in L.A. and have all my friends come out and see what I do.”
The Jessica Simpson Collection fashion show is this Saturday, September 20, at 5 p.m. at The Grove in Los Angeles!
